How Pharmacy First can help you & your loved ones?

The Pharmacy First scheme is an NHS initiative that provides easy access to advice & treatment, including prescription medicines, where appropriate, for seven common conditions. Here is the list of common conditions covered alongside the age criteria:

  • (5 years and over). Book Service

  • Infected insect bites and stings (1 year and older)

  • (1 year and older)

  • (1–17 years)

  • (18 years and over)

  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTI) in women (16-64 years)

  • Sinitus (12 years and over)

Please note that other eligibility criteria apply. If you are outside of the criteria, a pharmacist may still be able to provide advice and care, such as suggesting an over-the-counter treatment or, if necessary, referring you to another healthcare provider.

FAQ’s

  • The NHS Pharmacy First Service gives you access to treatment you need for certain common conditions through one of our pharmacists instead of needing to attend an appointment with your GP.

  • If you feel like you need more urgent care, then you may need to speak with your local pharmacist or usual GP to discuss your symptoms.

  • To help ease your symptoms, you may be given self-care advice, prescribed treatment such as antibiotics, or recommended medicines available to purchase from our pharmacy.
